Privacy Policy

The short version: LyricSnap only accesses what it needs to do its job. We don't sell your data. We don't read your existing files. We store as little as possible.

What LyricSnap does

LyricSnap is a Chrome extension that reads lyrics from Genius.com and creates a Google Doc in your Drive. It includes a snap credit system — you get 2 free snaps per day, and can purchase more.

What we collect and why

Your Google account email address
We use your email to link purchased snaps to your account. When you buy a snap pack, your email is stored temporarily in our system so your credits can be delivered to the right person. It is deleted once your credits are claimed.

Google Drive access
LyricSnap requests permission to create files in your Google Drive. We only ever create documents inside a folder called "LyricSnap". We cannot read, edit, or access any other file or folder in your Drive.

Snap count (stored on your device)
Your daily snap usage and paid snap balance are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device except when checking for purchased credits from our server.

What we don't collect

We do not read any existing files in your Google Drive
We do not store your Google account password
We do not track which songs you snap
We do not use cookies or analytics on our web pages
We do not sell or share your data with third parties

Third-party services

Stripe — handles all payments. When you purchase snaps, Stripe processes your card details. LyricSnap never sees or stores your payment information. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the checkout process.

Cloudflare — hosts our backend and web pages. Pending snap credits are stored in Cloudflare's infrastructure and automatically deleted after 30 days (or immediately once claimed).

Google APIs — we use the Google Docs API and Google Drive API to create documents on your behalf. Google's privacy policy applies to your Google account and Drive.

Data retention

Pending snap credits (your email + credit count) are stored on our server for up to 30 days and deleted as soon as they are claimed by your device. We do not retain any other personal data.

Your rights

You can revoke LyricSnap's access to your Google account at any time by going to myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing LyricSnap. This will not delete any Google Docs already created.
